Mission
UPDATE January 28, 2005This morning, the head physician who did the operation talked to Reiner. Guess what? The tumor was not malignant after all! And he does not know why the other doctor told us so and also told us that the lymph nodes were removed, because they weren't. Actually, he found several other little non-malignant tumors in the kidney and therefore removed the entire kidney.
Reiner is expected to leave the hospital on Tuesday. He will go to a rehab for three weeks, but we do not know yet when this will be.
As I am sure that all of you prayed for Reiner, so many of you responded to my last email with kind words to Reiner and the entire family. I printed out every email and delivered it to the hospital. Once again we were overwhelmed by the warmth and care brothers and sisters in Christ have shown to us. Thank you!
Call it what you want - to us it is like a miracle. Of course we are curious why the doctor gave us the wrong information in the first place - but actually that doesn't matter anymore.
Love in Christ All PRAISE and GLORY to our LORD!

Greetings from a snowy Munich!
At this point, I am asking you to bow your knees before our Lord in priestly service for Reiner: as some of you may know, during a routine check-up in December, a tumor was discovered in Reiner's left kidney. During the operation last Friday, the doctors found out that the tumor was malignant and removed the entire kidney and the lymph nodes in that area. Although the doctors are confident that there is no cancer left, we have to wait for the diagnosis of the lymph nodes.
Reiner is still very weak. At the moment, he does not want visits, not even phone calls (for those of you who know him better, that says a lot).
But his Spirit is strong. The Sunday before the operation, Reiner went forward, and "witnessed" that he is so glad that he can sleep well because his life and his health are resting in the hands of our almighty and all-loving Father. That was a powerful encouragement to us all.
Please pray for Reiner in any way you can.
Please also pray for Rosel (his wife), and for me (his son). All of a sudden, I am not only thinking about Reiner, but I am missing my best friend and counselor and co-worker. Please pray that I have the strength to step in as good as possible taking over Reiner's classes.
Also, I ask your prayers for our financial situation: throughout the last five years, there were several churches or individuals who have ceased their financial support. Because the US$ was so strong, there was enough money from the other givers, and even a surplus was built up on an account of my sponsoring church. However, with the 30% loss of the US$ last year, this surplus is almost used up and forecasts (in Europe) say, that the US$ will lose more to the EURO this year. I need to find additional financial sources soon. If you have a heart for Germany, please pray about supporting our ministry.
Thank you so much for your many prayers and your financial partnership in our ministry!
Love in Christ
